Gwen Stefani Set for First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart

Gwen Stefani is aiming for her first solo No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with her latest release, This Is What the Truth Feels Like. Industry forecasters suggest the set could earn around
80,000 equivalent album units in the week ending March 24. That should be enough for the title to debut atop the chart dated April 9.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the new April 9-dated Billboard 200 chart is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s websites on Sunday, March 27.

This Is What the Truth Feels Like is Stefani’s third solo album, and follows The Sweet Escape (released in 2006, peaking at No. 3) and her debut, Love. Angel. Music. Baby. (2004, No. 5).

Stefani has visited the top of the chart once before, but as the lead singer of the band No Doubt. The group’s breakthrough album Tragic Kingdom spent nine weeks at No. 1 in 1996 and 1997. The act logged five more charting sets, four of which reached the top 10.

Also heading for the top 10 on next week’s Billboard 200 chart is Jordan Smith, the ninth season winner of The Voice. His debut set, Something Beautiful, could bow in the top five of the list with around 50,000 units (with nearly all of that sum generated by traditional album sales).
